Dear TJ,
We took another whirlwind trip to Auburn yesterday, leaving home at 8:00 am and arriving back home again at right about 8:00 pm. Your Uncle Sean, Aunt Kathy, and Kyle were in town to visit your Great-Grandma in rehab, so we went to visit them. Six hours in the van (round trip) is a long time for anyone, and we were all more than a little bit tired and cranky on the way home.
After eating dinner at one of the Thruway rest areas, you had about half a bottle of chocolate milk left. It was a miracle I got you not to finish it at dinner (even though it was 340 calories worth of chocolate millk!) because you really wanted it all.
As soon as we got back in the van, you asked for the rest of your chocolate milk. I told you no. I said that we weren’t going to have this conversation about the chocolate milk now, and you could ask me again at 6:45. (I was asking you to wait about half an hour.)
At the moment the clock turned 6:45, you said to me: “Mommy, it’s 6:45. It’s time to have the conversation about the chocolate milk now.”
Not, “Mommy, can I have the chocolate milk now?” No. You very specifically remembered that I’d said we weren’t having that conversation before. And you wanted to have the conversation.
We all laughed. I let you finish the chocolate milk. How could I refuse that?
Love,
Mommy

OK, that was just priceless:)
Oh that is PERFECT. I love it. It’s SOOOOO what Mister Man would have said and done (after ‘hmphing’ that I wasn’t giving in right away). He’s got a great personality. He’s a precious little guy, isn’t it?
I’ll play. But I write letters when I have something to say (otherwise I’d forget) … This week it was Tuesday: http://tinybabel.blogspot.com/2010/04/reusable-quotes.html
