The devastating earthquake in Haiti has injured and killed tens of thousands of people, leaving even the President of Haiti homeless. Charitable organizations across the globe need our help to send aid to the people of Haiti, but donation fatigue can get even the most kind-hearted of us down.
You’ve heard of dining out for a cause, but here’s something different… PLAY for a cause! You may remember how awesome WorldWinner was for sponsoring me at the Type-A Mom Conference in September 2009. Well, they’ve got their own fundraising effort underway to raise money for earthquake relief.
WorldWinner will be hosting charity game tournaments in which a portion of every player’s entry fees are donated to the American Red Cross International Response Fund, which is working to help the people of Haiti as it has helped countless people in other countries in previous years.
Between today – Friday, January 15, 2010 - and Thursday, January 21, 2010, 10% of each player’s entry fees in featured charity tournaments will be donated to the American Red Cross.
Featured games include:
- Solitaire Rush (3-card draw with $12k in prizes)
- SCRABBLE Cubes (like a 3D combination of Scrabble and Boggle)
- Mystery PI (hidden picture puzzles)
- Wheel of Fortune (just like on TV!)
- SwapIt! (like Bejeweled, but cooler)
- The new TWISTER Bounce Shot (spin, aim, and bounce)
Tournament entry fees vary; the 6-player SwapIt! charity tournament costs $1.50 to enter, while the 21-player Mystery PI tournament costs $2.75 to enter. Don’t forget that you have a change to win a cash prize for top place in each tournament. (If you’re feeling especially generous, you could even donate your winnings to charity!)
What are you waiting for? Sign up with WorldWinner today, have some fun, and raise some money for a good cause! In case you’re wondering, WorldWinner’s Toys For Tots play-to-donate fundraiser raised over $17,000 in just one week in December! Let’s make a difference… and have a good time doing so!
Psst… You may notice that those WorldWinner links are my affiliate links. This helps me show WorldWinner how many players I’m sending their way as their evangelist. (I play at least four games on their site every day!) I’m hoping they’ll want me to represent them at BlogHer this year!
